Five Tips To Help You Kick Alcohol And Depression For Good

It’s a proven fact that alcohol & depression do not mix. Alcohol itself is a depressant & by drinking it, especially to excess, when you’re already suffering from depressive symptoms, you are only going to make things much worse than they already are.

Many people start drinking because they aredepressed & have no idea  that they areonly making things worse on themselves. Here are some tips that you can use to get back on your feet again.

#1. See your doctor – I know that this seems obvious, but some people just need to be told what to do before they will finally take action. Your doctor can get you on medication, including antibuse, if necessary, to help you stop drinking. Antibuse is a powerful anti-alcohol deterrent that will make anyone that drinks while taking it violently sick. Bottom line, the first thing you really need to do is put that bottle down.

#2. Get on anti-depressant medication – Do this at least temporarily, at least until you start getting things straight in your head again & get into some regular counseling.

#3. See a Mental Health Counselor – There’s no shame in this at all. Sheesh, I see one & I am not ashamed, I am human. I feel much better when I am able to go in & talk to some one on a regular basis & dump some dirt off. I also have not had a drink in nearly three years, so it is helping me a lot & will often help you too, if you will just give it a chance.

#4. Start eating healthy – Get rid of anything that comes in a bag or a box & get rid of ½ of what you have in a can. That stuff is nothing but processed food whiz that has a direct effect on your mood & your health. Load up on small portions of grilled or broiled lean meats & fish, fresh steamed veggies & fresh fruits. You will be completely amazed at how good real food tastes again!

#5. Start exercising – It will often help you to burn off excess energy & stress. It will also help you to get rid of that garbage built up in your system, burn off those unwanted pounds & build your self esteem again.

There you have it, my five part recipe for building a better you & kicking the alcohol & depression. All kidding aside, I really hope that you take these positive steps to get your life back & start feeling good about yourself again. God bless.
