This will depend on many factors. Depending on the country that you live in, there may be a Social Service that has availability to help. Factors may involve the income and savings of the couple. However, signing over the property should not be amongst the factors involved. There is a financial crisis, but that is taking it too far, in my opinion. Check with your local Social Services, which I think are called the United States Department of Health and Human Services, in the USA.
