Is percocet a drug that is prescribed by pain management doctors?

I have a herniated disc in my back. It has caused me lots of pain for the last three years. I had a tooth removed last week and the doctor gave me percocet. This killed all my back pain. I am going to begin pain management soon. Is percocet a drug that is prescribed by pain management doctors?

it most likely is a pain killer that is prescribed by pain management doc’s as well as a reg doc…they probably prescribe just about any painkiller depending on the severity of the pain you are having.

Please, please, please think twice about using this for your back pain. It can so often lead to dependence and disability. If you are seeing a good pain management doctor, they will want you to try non-narcotics to help your back pain. I am really sorry you are having this pain, but please don’t make it worse by becoming dependent on a narcotic pain medication.
