I just started my South Beach diet on Monday 7/14/08. I have been following it to a T. How long before I will start to see some results. Going into day 4 tomorrow. Loving this diet alot though regardless.

well since the south beach diet has recently been proved to make you gain weight, i believe you will see some love handles appear within the next few days.
I think I lost about 8 pounds in the first two weeks. But by the end of about a month and a half I was down 25 lbs. I’ve currently gained about 5 lbs back since I got too small. I am 5’3 and about 117 lbs

I heard you will actually lose about 10lbs in the first two weeks. just hang in there, and weight yourself excalty two weeks from when you started, in the morning before you eat anything. good luck!
it will take several weeks before your metabolism shifts into fat burning mode, just hang in there. the key to any diet designed for fat loss is consistency and dedication.
i think you are supposed to weigh yourself at the end of 14 days, so your body can regulate and you wont be let down if you should put on a lb or 2. i started again one week ago and haven’t really weighed myself. But i do feel less bloated and smaller in the waist.
the first two weeks is when you see the fastest results. though throughout the first 6 months you also lose weight,
I was on this diet once before and lost about five pounds around day 7 or 8. The carb cutting at the beginning of the diet was a killer for me. It is funny you ask this because I was just researching the diet again yesterday and I am planning to go back on it Monday. Good luck to you!!!

If you are overweight and be consistent with the 2 week intensive program diet, you will lose significant weight after completing it. When you follow again with healthy nutrition after 2 weeks then you will get extra weightloss.
This SBD is very good not only to lose weight but also to prevent from early morbidity due to heart attack and stroke. Keep doing good work, and get healthy.

You should lose about 8 pounds in 2 weeks. After that, it should be about 1-2 pounds a weeks. Just don’t get discouraged and keep exercising.
