Answer by Davida cold is usually a viral respiratory infection. not much you can do except treat symptoms. a sinus infection indicates with green snot. allergies are clear snot. a sinus infection is often bacterial. a nasal flush kit helps with drainage. available in any pharmacy. hot ,spicy foods help drain sinuses. if you have a sinus infection, it can be treated with anti biotics. i used sulfa based meds with great success until i developed an allergy to them.
